
AMOC* to Present ‘Balliett & Aucoin: Two New Song Cycles’ at Lincoln Center
By David SalazarThe American Modern Opera Company (AMOC*) will return to Lincoln Center’s David Rubenstein Atrium for Up Close, a series of three one-night-only programs of new and foundational contemporary compositions.
The main operatic showcase features baritone William Socolof and composer-pianist Matthew Aucoin presenting “Balliett & Aucoin: Two New Song Cycles.” The program includes Aucoin’s “The Inner Core” and Doug Balliett’s “Camino Songs.”
The performance takes the stage on Feb. 28, 2026 starting at 7:30 p.m.
AMOC* Up close will also present “Meadow, Wildflowers” featuring a string trio and pianist Stewart Goodyear as well as “On the Hinge of Modernity,” showcasing the works of Dario Castello and Luciano Berio. The former takes the stage on March 19, while the latter showcase gets a performance on April 2, 2026.
