
American Lyric Theater to Present ‘Tevye’s Daughters’
By David SalazarAmerican Lyric Theater is set to present a concert performance of “Tevye’s Daughters.”
The new opera by composer Alex Weiser and librettist Stephanie Fleischmann, will take the stage on March 19, 2026, at the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust in New York City.
The work is inspired by Sholem Aleichem’s stories not included in Fiddler on the Roof and centers on Shprintse, Tevye’s youngest daughter, whose forbidden love sets in motion a story of silence, memory, and reckoning.
The cast features Elizabeth Sutphen as Rose/Shprintse, Jennifer Zetlan as Tzeytl, Gina Perregrino as Beylke, Heather Johnson as Chava, Gideon Dabi as Tevye, Mary-Hollis Hundley as Golde, and Hayden Smith as Arontshik. Emily Senturia conducts the American Lyric Theater Chamber Orchestra.
