Aldeburgh Festival of Music and the Arts Announces 2024 Season

The 75th Aldeburgh Festival of Music and the Arts has been announced featuring chamber, orchestral and vocal concerts.

Here is a look at the vocal events.

Gweneth Ann Rand, Simon Lepper, and Rachel Jones perform Messiaen’s “Harawi – Chant d’amour et de mort.”

Performance Date: June 8, 2024

Rt Revd Martin Seeley, Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich preacher, Aldeburgh Voices, and Dominic Ellis-Peckham perform Kodály’s “Missa Brevis” and Judith Weir’s “A Wreath.”

Performance Date: June 9, 2024

Andrè Schuen and Julius Drake perform a recital of Schumann and Thomas Larcher.

Performance Date: June 9, 2024

Purcell’s “The Fairy Queen” will be performed with Vox Luminis.

Performance Date: June 9, 2024

Claire Booth performs music by Judith Weir, Thomas Larcher, Unsuk Chin, and Schubert. She is accompanied by Charlotte Saluste-Bridoux, Alban Gerhardt, and Joseph Havlat.

Britten Pears Young Artist Alumni Recital will showcase Lindsey Reynolds, Jonathan Eyers, Emily Hoh, Anna Disley-Simpson, and Katie Byford.

The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Ryan Wigglesworth will perform music by Judith Weir, Brahms, and Mahler. Soloists include Elizabeth Watts and Daniel Pioro.

Britten’s “Curlew River” will star Ian Bostridge, Peter Brathwaite, and Willard White.

The Nash Ensemble and Claire Booth perform Schoenberg’s “Pierrot lunaire.”
