Aida Garifulina, Matteo Roma & Željko Lučić Star in Opera na Vodi’s ‘La Bohème’

Opera na Vodi presents Puccini’s “La Bohème” on Sept. 8 at the Belgrade Waterfront in Serbia.

Soprano Aida Garifulina sings the role of Mimì, with tenor Matteo Roma as Rodolfo, and baritone Željko Lučić as Marcello. They are joined by Opera Nationala Romana Timisoara’s choir. Dejan Savić conducts. The opera will be sung in Italian with translations in English and Serbian.

Following this production, on Sept. 9, Opera na Vodi celebrates its fifth anniversary. Srboljub Dinić leads the RTS Symphony Orchestra and Choir in a concert of film music.

After “La Boheme,” Garifulina closes out her 2023 season with solo concerts at Dubai Opera and at the Enescu Festival. Roma will appear in Opéra de Toulon’s “Rigoletto.” Lučić will sing the title character in Verdi’s “Falstaff” at Hessisches Staatstheater in 2024.
