‘Aède of the Ocean & Land’ To be Presented on Zoom

The Center for Contemporary Opera has announced that it will present the Cinematic Zoom premiere of “Aède of the Ocean & Land,” a recently discovered play by Princess Spy Noor Inayat Khan. The event will take place on Sep. 14 at 1 p.m. EDT.

The event will feature 22 artists overall. Fourteen artists will perform live simultaneously from 10 different time zones via Zoom.

The cast for the play includes Dashon Burton, Emily Pulley, Jennifer Zetlan, Lito Messini, Gemma Carbone, Kelvin Chan, Elias Husiak, Laura Jobin-Acosta, Adrian Freiling, Katerina Papachristou, Valia Papachristou, and Julia Rabia Rahm.

The performers will be accompanied by the Cassatt String Quartet. Muneko Otani and Jennifer Leshnower will play the violin; Ah Ling Neu will be on viola; Elizabeth LatifaNoor Anderson will play the cello. Sitar player Srinivas Reddy and tabla player Amit Kavthekar will join the ensemble. Jonathan Hess is the percussionist.

Shirish Korde will conduct the production by Elli Papakonstantinou.
