
Adriana González, Guido Loconsolo, Christiane Karg Headline Opéra de Toulon’s 2021-22 Season

It all kicks off with a production of “Don Giovanni” headlined by Anaïs Constans, Marie-Ève Munger, Khatouna Gadelia, Guido Loconsolo, Emanuele D’Aguanno, Pablo Ruiz, Ramaz Chikviladze, and Nika Guliashvili.
Jordan de Souza conducts a production directed by Daniel Benoin.
Performance Dates: Oct. 8-14, 2021
The company will present “Les Petites Noces,” an adaptation of Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” for a younger audience. This version throws Cherubino into the spotlight. Tamara Bounazou, Émilie Rose Bry, Albane Carrère, Jean-Gabriel Saint-Martin, Gilen Goicoechea, and Pierre-Antoine Chaumien headline the cast, which will be directed by Gilles Rico and conducted by Iñaki Encina Oyón.
Performance Dates: Oct. 23 & 24, 2021
Raoul Steffani, Étienne Duhil de Bénazé, Quentin Desgeorges, and Christian Andreas headline “L’Heure Espagnole.” Valerio Galli conducts a production directed by James Bonas.
Performance Dates: Nov. 20 & 21, 2021
Strauss’ “Die Fledermaus” will be directed by Jean Lacornerie and conducted by Yoel Gamzou. Eleonore Margueere, Veronika Seghers, Tamara Gura, Stephan Genz, and Miloš Bulajić headline the cast.
Performance Dates: Dec. 26 – Dec. 31, 2021
Adriana González, Davide Giusti, Devid Cecconi, and Mariam Battistelli headline Renaud Doucet’s “La Bohème” production. Valerio Galli conducts.
Performance Dates: Jan. 30- Feb. 4, 2022
Gluck’s “Orphée et Eurydice” gets adapted into “Petite Balade aux Enfers” by Marine Thoreau La Salle and Valérie Lesort. The opera stars Marie Lenormand, Judith Fa, and Violette Clapeyron.
Performance Dates: Feb. 26, 2022 (two performances)
The company will close out the season with a production of Tchaikovsky’s “The Queen of Spades.” The opera will star Elena Bezgodkova, Oleg Dolgov, Marie-Ange Todorovitch, and Serban Vasile. Olivier Py directs the production, which will be conducted by Jurjen Hempel.

Concerts
Tenor Kévin Amiel and baritone Vincent Le Texier will appear in Rimski-Korsakov’s “Mozart and Salieri” in a program conducted by Pierre Bleuse. The performance will also include Mozart’s 27th piano concerto.
Performance Date: Oct. 29, 2021
Soprano Christiane Karg will lead a concert that includes music by Ravel, Tcherepnine, and Tchaikovksy.
