
Adrian Eröd Named Artistic Director of the Wiener Staatsoper’s Opernstudio

Since 2003, Eröd has been a member of the Wiener Staatsoper, where he debuted in 2001.
He has since performed in several productions, including “Roméo et Juliette.” “The Magic Flute,” “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg,” “La Bohème, “Le nozze di Figaro,” “Il barbiere di Siviglia,” “Manon,” “Manon Lescaut,” “Simon Boccanegra,” “Gesualdo,” “Die Fledermaus,” “Così fan tutte,” “Werther” and “Fedora,” among others.
The baritone has performed at the Oper Frankfurt, Opernhaus Zürich, Bayreuther Festspiele, and New National Theatre Tokyo.
The Wiener Staatsoper founded an opera studio to provide two years of targeted and practical support for outstanding singing talent when Bogdan Roščić and Philippe Jordan’s term of office started in 2020-21.
The program enables the State Opera to establish an early, intensive relationship with the elite of the next generation of singers, but also challenges the opera house to address fundamental questions about quality, tradition and the comprehensive training of singing performers.
