The Accademia Verdiana has announced that 14 singers will participate in this year’s program.

The singers were chosen from 148 applicants from 14 countries.

This year’s students are sopranos Nicoletta Briguglio, Laura Delogu, Judith Maria Durr, Mariko Hélène Lepage, Yuliya Pogrebnyak, Mariia Smirnova, and Yijia Zhong; mezzo-soprano Erica Cortese; tenors Federico Bonghi, Long Ning, and Dongjae Son; baritone Jaehyeon Kim; and basses Kyung Ho Cheong, and Jiakai Li.

This year’s singers come from Italy, France, Switzerland, Ukraine, Russia, China, and Korea and will be awarded a scholarship of 1000 euro. They will be able to participate in masterclasses, seminars, and lessons.

The selected singers were chosen during an audition process that was held between Feb. 16 and 19 with a jury that included Francesco Izzo and Giannina Seccia, Silvia Dalla Benetta, Vincenzo De Vivo, and Damiana Pinti.
