Academy of Ancient Music Launches Fundraiser

By David Salazar

The Academy of Ancient Music is set to launch a fundraiser on Nov. 29, 2023 to continue championing lesser-known composers.

Per the official campaign page, the company is looking to reinvent the way it records and presents works to audiences, with a new emphasis on music videos.

“Over the past 50 years, AAM has changed the way the world thinks about and listens to baroque and classical music,” says the introduction on the company’s campaign page. “But so much more remains to be done. In the face of a cost-of-living crisis, we need to continue to be bold, thrilling audiences with larger-scale and lesser-known works. What’s more, technology is changing how people listen. Audio is no longer enough; audiences are clamouring for video too. In order for AAM’s distinctive voice to be heard, we need your help.”

The campaign is targeting 50,000 pounds. The campaign will be matched-funded.
