
Académie de l’Opéra National de Paris Unveils 2022-23 Season

The Académie de l’Opéra National de Paris has announced its 2022-23 season.
For the purposes of this article, our focus will be solely on vocal and operatic performances.
Artists of the Académie and the Chorus of the Opéra de Dijon will present Rossini’s “Stabat Mater” under conductor Anass Ismat.
Performance Date: Sept. 13, 2022
The artists in resident will put on a concert to formally open the season.
Performance Date: Sept. 21, 2022
Conductor Jean-Luc Tinaud, soprano Marianne Croux, and baritone Timothée Varon will join forces with the Orchestre atelier Ostinato for a concert of opera arias by Mozart.
Performance Date: Oct. 2, 2022
Next up is “Nocturne, video en-chantée,” a recital featuring lieder by Schubert, Duparc, Brahms, and Wolf, among others.
Performance Date: Nov. 18, 2022
Mezzo-soprano Marie-Andrée Bouchard-Lesieur and pianist Benjamin Laurent will perform a recital that focuses on mythological characters.
Performance Date: Dec. 12 & 13, 2022
There will be an aria and ensembles concert featuring the resident artists.
Performance Date: Dec. 14, 2022
The singers and orchestra members of the Académie will join forces with conductor Gustavo Dudamel for a concert dedicated to Latin American music.
Performance Date: Jan. 25, 2023
Artists in residence at the Académie will present Lieder and Mélodies by Ravel, Mussorgsky, and Britten, among others.
Performance Date: Jan. 31, 2023
Soprano Lise Nougier and pianist Yoan Héreau will present music by Massenet and Tchaikovsky, among others. The concert is entitled “PS: Je vous relis sans cesse.”
Performance Date: Feb. 13 & 14, 2023
The Artists in residence will perform a concert dedicated to women composers such as Pauline Viardot, Céline Chaminade, and both Lili and Nadia Boulanger, among others. There will be two performances, one at the Opéra Bastille, and a latter one at the Palazzetto Bru Zane in Venice.
Performance Date: Feb. 16 & March 8, 2023
Soprano Kseniia Proshina and pianist Félix Ramos will perform “Paysages,” which features music by Rimski-Korsakov, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, and Chausson.
Performance Date: April 3 & 4, 2023
Elizabeth Askren will conduct Rossini’s “La Scala di Seta” in a production by Pascal Neyron.
Performance Date: April 29 – May 6, 2023
There will be a concert dedicated to Italian melodies by Rossini, Donizetti, and Bellini.
Performance Date: May 23, 2023
There will be an aria and melodies concert featuring the young artists of the Academy.
Performance Date: May 30 & June 1, 2023
There will be a concert of Scarlatti’s “La Giuditta” under conductor Thibault Noally and Les Accents.
Performance Date: June 7, 2023
The Artists in Residence will do a workshop on “Looking for Bernstein” as directed by Victoria Sitja.
Performance Date: June 28, 2023
