Académie de l’Opéra de Paris Announces 2024-25 Season

The Académie de l’Opéra de Paris has unveiled its 2024-25 season.

There will be an opening concert featuring the artists in residence at the Academy.

Performance Dates: Sept. 27, 2024

“Mélodies boréales et danse slaves” features works by Grieg, Sibelius, Saariaho, and Dvorák.

Performance Dates: Oct. 16, 2024

Among the programming for younger audiences is a performance Emmanuelle Da Costa and Samuel Muller’s “Actéon.” Morgan Jourdain conducts and Victoria Sitjà directs.

Performance Dates: Nov. 7 – 9, 2024

There will be a “Liebeslieder – chanter de l’amour.”

Performance Dates: Nov. 13, 2024

In time for the holiday season, the Academy presents “Fantaisies… pour un soir de décembre.” The showcase includes works by Offenbach, Delibes, Messager, and Chrétien.

Performance Dates: Dec. 18, 2024

Patrick Lange leads the artists in residence at the Academy in “Bizet et ses contemporains.”

Performance Dates: Jan. 17, 2025

Barotione Volodymyr Kapshuk and pianist Benjamin Laurent perform a recital dedicated to Ukrainian works.

Performance Dates: Feb. 8, 2025

Next up is Haydn’s “L’Isola Disabitata” with music direction from François López-Ferrer and stage direction by Simone Valastro.

Performance Dates: March 11 – 21, 2025

Mezzo-soprano Emanuela Pascu and pianist Yoan Héreau present music by composer Augusta Holmès, the first woman composer to create an opera for the Palais Garnier.

Performance Dates: March 22, 2025

Another opera for the youth, Helene Bracke’s “Nezquicoule” features music by Purcell, Offenbach, Händel, and Delibes, among others. Bracke performs alongside Ewout Lehoucq and others.

Performance Dates: March 26 – 28, 2025

There will be a concert dedicated to French and Brazilian melodies by such composers as Poulenc, Hahn, Villa-Lobos, Gonzaga, and Nobre.

Performance Dates: April 9, 2025

The Academy artists present an aria concert.

Performance Dates: May 5, 2025

There will also be a “Bizet et ses contemporains” program that echoes the earlier one in January. This one features music by Bizet, Massenet, Saint-Saëns, and Delibes.

Performance Dates: May 14, 2025

Soprano Marianne Croux and pianist Yoan Héreau shine the spotlight on Lili Boulanger in their recital.

Performance Dates: May 17, 2025
