
Abdiel Vásquez Joins Compañía Nacional de Ópera de México as Assistant Music Director
By David SalazarConductor Abdiel Vásquez has been named to the position of Assistant Music Director of the Compañía Nacional de Ópera de México.
“It’s an honor to commence this new chapter, bringing my experience as a pianist and conductor to one of the most famous theaters in the world,” the Mexican conductor stated per a social media post.
Vásquez will commence his tenure by working as Assistant conductor on productions of “Elektra” and Rossini’s “Petite Messe Solenelle.” “Elektra” is set to open on Oct. 5, 2025 in a production by Mauricio García Lozano.
Vásquez splits his time between pianist and conductor. In 2025-26, he will lead concerts in Monterrey with La Súper Orquesta Filarmónica before leading the Flint Symphony in a Halloween Special. He will also perform as a soloist and conductor with La Súper Orquesta Filarmónica in a November concert.
He is also the founder of the Vincerò Academy.
