
Medici.tv Celebrates 150th Anniversary of Ravel’s Birth With Live Performances & Exclusive New Releases

Two livestreams of composer’s instrumental work kick off the anniversary festivities. On March 27, the platform will livestream Ravel’s complete operatic masterpieces.
One century to the day after its premiere at the very same venue, “L’Enfant et les Sortilèges” returns to the Monte Carlo Opera on a double bill with Ravel’s only other opera, “L’Heure espagnole.” The cast for both operas include mezzo-soprano Gaëlle Arquez, tenor Cyrille Dubois, and baritones Florian Sempey and Matthieu Lécroart.
Alongside these live performances and additional exciting programming to come throughout the season, medici.tv will also produce exclusive new content allowing listeners to delve deeper into Ravel’s artistry. A highlight of this editorial programming includes a new episode of the Musicmakers video podcast featuring pianist Bertrand Chamayou in conversation with Gramophone’s Editor-in-Chief, James Jolly. Additional videos and carefully curated collections will spotlight Ravel’s masterpieces.
