DCINY To Showcase Major Premieres at Carnegie Hall this November

Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY) has unveiled its upcoming fall slate.

The organization is set to kick things off with the world premiere of Ola Gjeilo’s “Twilight Mass.” The work will be paired with Vivaldi’s “Gloria” for treble voices. DCINY Artistic Director Jonathan Griffith conducts the Gjeilo while Nancy Menk conducts the Vivaldi. Soloists include Diana McVey and Emily Hughes. Gjeilo will be at the piano.

Performance Date: Nov. 13, 2023

Next up is a performance of Part I of Händel’s “Messiah” as arranged by Mozart. Soloists include Penelope Shumate, Holly Sorensen, Chad Kranak, and Christopher Job. Jonathan Griffith conducts.

Performance Date: Nov. 26, 2023

Closing out the November slate is “Hopes and Dreams,” which includes the NY premiere of Heather Sorenson’s “Requiem.” Also on the program is Sorenson and Joseph Martin’s “Christmas Dreams.” Soloists include Heather Lake Bays, Sue Martin, Ryan Johnston, and Layke Jones. Joseph Martin conducts.

Performance Date: Nov. 27, 2023

All performances will take place at Carnegie Hall.
