Anna Netrebko, Marina Rebeka, Sonya Yoncheva & Elīna Garanča Lead Staatsoper Unter den Linden’s 2023-24 Season

Berlin’s Staatsoper Unter den Linden has announced its 2023-24 season. The season will showcase numerous revivals and new productions.

Premieres

Calixto Bieito directs a new production of Verdi’s “Aida” with Grigory Shkarupa, Elīna Garanča, Ekaterina Semenchuk, Marina Rebeka, María José Siri, Yusif Eyvazov, Ivan Magrì, René Pape, Erwin Schrott, Vladislav Sulimsky, and Alfredo Daza. Nicola Luisotti conducts. 

Performance Dates: Oct. 6-29, 2023

Magdalena Kožená takes on the title role of Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s “Medee.” She will be joined by Reinoud Van Mechelen, Luca Tittoto, Carolyn Sampson, Angela Hicks, and Gyula Orendt. Simon Rattle conducts.

Christiane Karg leads a new production of Dvořák’s “Rusalka” with Pavel Černoch, Anna Samuil, Mika Kares, and Anna Kissjudit. Robin Ticciati conducts Kornél Mundruczó’s production.

Mika Kares, Najmiddin Mavlyanov, Stephan Rügamer, Vladislav Sulimsky, Ferruccio Furlanetto, Marina Prudenskaya, Evelin Novak, and Steve Davislim star Mussorgsky’s “Khovanshchina.” Simone Young conducts Claus Guth’s production.
