New York City Opera to Celebrate Pride in Bryant Park

The New York City Opera will celebrate Pride Month with its “Pride in the Park” concert.

The evening will be held on June 17, 2022 at as part of Bryant Park Picnic Performances and will feature a diverse program of selections from opera and musical theater sung by Glenn Seven Allen, Chelsea Bonagura, Lauren Hoffmeier, Brian James Myer, Peter Kendall Clark, Melanie Long, Jessica Tyler Wright and Jordan Weatherston Pitts. The LaGuardia High School Choir will also be featured.

Additionally, Daria Hrabova Capasso and Oleksandra Hrabova will sing Ukrainian songs in tribute with Music Direction by Kathryn Olander.

In a statement, General Director Michael Capasso said, “‘The People’s Opera’ is thrilled to return to our summer home at Bryant Park, where we can continue our mission of free performances for New York audiences.”

This summer the New York City Opera will also perform semi-staged productions of “La traviata” and “Lucia di Lammermoor” on the Bryant Park Stage.
