Jonas Kaufmann has confirmed that his Christmas tour is not canceled.

The tenor said via social media, “The tour ‘Christmas with Jonas Kaufmann’ in December 2020 has not been canceled or postponed, as has been stated by some media outlets. Needless to say, the promoters will continue to monitor the development of the COVID-19 pandemic and its ensuing restrictions closely.”

The comments come in response to an interview by Le Figaro, which published that Kaufmann’s tour was canceled.

Kaufmann is set to perform for the Teatro San Carlo di Napoli in “Aida,” and in a recital in Geneva. The tenor is currently promoting his upcoming “Otello” recording, which is slated to hit streaming platforms on June 12.
