By Olivia Manna

The Berkshire Opera Festival has announced it’s upcoming production of Donizetti’s “Don Pasquale” for it’s fourth season.

As with it’s first three seasons, this production  will also be accompanying recitals and other outreach events around the local Berkshire community, including an exciting new collaboration with Hancock Shaker Village entitled “Ain’t it a Pretty Night: Excerpts from American Opera,” as well as “Savor the Sound: An Evening of Bel Canto.”

The cast is set to include Craig Colclough as Don Pasquale, Metropolitan Opera soprano Deanna Breiwick as Norina, Matthew Grills as Ernesto, and Emmett O’Hanlon as Doctor Malatesta.

The production will be lead and conducted by Brian Garman and directed by Jonathon Loy.

“For me, Don Pasquale is the very greatest of all the bel canto comedies and stands as Donizetti’s masterpiece in the genre,” says Brian Garman. “We’re delighted to present this remarkable comedy this summer.”
