Vienna State Opera 2017-18 Live Stream: René Pape Stars in ‘Die Zauberflöte’

This Friday you can check out “Die Zauberflöte” live from the Vienna State Opera as part of the company’s live stream service.

The performance will kick off at 7 p.m. local time and run through around 10 p.m. Audiences from around the world will get an opportunity to experience the opera from the comfort of their respective homes.

This season’s production will be directed by Mosche Leiser and Patrice Caurier and conducted by Adam Fischer. It will star René Pape, Jörg Schneider, Hila Fahima, Olga Bezmertna, and Thomas Tatzl.

This is the last performance of a run that included a total of four performances starting on Dec. 22, 2017.

Per the official website, tickets start at 14 euros (approximately $16 USD) and can be purchased right off the Vienna State Opera’s streaming website. There are options for monthly subscriptions to future performances on the service depending on users’ preference to experience opera from the comfort of their homes.

After this production, the company will also live stream “Die Fledermaus” before the calendar changes to 2018. In 2018, the company will feature 25 live streams, including the full “Der Ring des Nibelungen.”
