Oper Frankfurt Extends Contracts for Intendant Loebe & General Music Director Guggeis

Oper Frankfurt has extended the contract for its Intendant and General Music Director.
Both contracts for the Intendant of the Frankfurt Opera Bernd Loebe and General Music Director Thomas Guggeis were extended by four years. Loebe and Guggeis will remain in their respective positions until August 31, 2032.
Since taking up the position during the 2002-03 season, Loebe has led opera house in producing several world premieres and forming relationships with international guest artists. In 2013, Oper Frankfurt was voted Opera Company of the Year 2013 at the first ever International Opera Awards in London and in 2018, Loebe won the Organization’s Leadership in Opera Award.
Guggeis began his role during the 2023-24 season. He has led the Frankfurt Opern and Museumsorchester in winning the title of Opernwelt’s “Orchestra of the Year” for three years in a row. Guggeis was also named Conductor of the Year for 2026 by Opernwelt.
