
Lise Davidsen & James Bailieu to Bring Schubert Recital to Schubert Club in Minnesota
By David SalazarNorwegian soprano Lise Davidsen and pianist James Baillieu will open Schubert Club’s 2026-27 International Artist Series with a recital at Ordway Concert Hall in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
The showcase, scheduled for Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, marks Davidsen’s Schubert Club debut. The first half of the all-Schubert show includes “Am Bach im Frühling,” “Ganymed,” “Der Zwerg,” “Gretchen am Spinnrade,” “Mignons Gesang,” three of the “Mignons Gesänge” from “Wilhelm Meister,” and “Der Tod und das Mädchen.” The second half opens with “Der Musensohn” and continues with “Lachen und Weinen,” “Suleika I,” “Auf dem See,” “Der blinde Knabe,” “Du bist die Ruh,” “Die Allmacht,” and “Die junge Nonne.” The program closes with “Erlkönig” and “Litanei auf das Fest Aller Seelen.”
Davidsen and Baillieu have also scheduled a Schubert recital tour that includes Carnegie Hall, the Bergen International Festival, and Wigmore Hall.
