
Rossini Opera Festival Shows Audience Growth in 2026
By Francisco SalazarFollowing the conclusion of the Rossini Opera Festival’s 2026 edition, the company released its final results showcasing a growth in audience.
The company said that after 42 events, including performances and talks, it recorded 16,350 attendees compared with 15,559 in 2025.
Additionally it said that the box-office amounted to €808,000 and that visitor came from all over the world including Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Japan, the USA, Austria, Spain, Belgium and Romania. There were also members from Netherlands, Slovakia, Poland, Ireland, Russia, Australia, Bulgaria, China, Luxembourg, Canada, South Korea, Mexico, Sweden, Latvia, Greece, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Denmark, Azerbaijan, Finland, Slovenia, Croatia, San Marino, Ukraine, Colombia, Estonia, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Georgia, Monaco, Norway, New Caledonia, Taiwan, Türkiye, Jersey, Lithuania, Portugal, Armenia and Cuba. In total, the Festival welcomed audiences from 51 countries across four continents.
The Festival also revealed that there were 157 journalists from 24 countries and three opera premieres were broadcast live on Rai Radio3.
The 2026 edition presented three operas including “L’occasione fa il ladro,” “Le siège de Corinthe,” and “La scala di seta.”
Next season the Rossini Opera Festival will take place from August 12 to 24, 2027 and will open with a new production of “La donna del lago,” conducted by François Lopez-Ferrer and directed by Johannes Erath.
