Kennedy Center Board Plans to Add Back Trump’s Name in September

By Francisco Salazar

The Kennedy Center board has announced that it plans to add Donald Trump’s name back on the performing arts center in September.

The news was revealed in a court filing that said the board would add an inscription below the Kennedy Center’s sign that says the venue was “Restored and Renovated by President Donald J. Trump.”

The Trump loyalist board also noted that it would add another reference to Trump if an endowment reaches $100 million and also plans to rename the physical site the building sits on in honor of Trump.

The news also comes as the board voted to close down the Kennedy Center for renovations and comes after a federal judge ordered the center to take down Trump’s name from the venue, when it was illegally renamed after the president by the current board. The name was eventually taken down but the center has kept a long white tarp that covers the part of the building where Trump’s name once sat atop JFK’s.
