Houston Grand Opera will present the annual Butler Studio Showcase on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 2:30 p.m. in the Cullen Theater at the Wortham Theater Center.

The performance will feature all twelve members of the Sarah and Ernest Butler Houston Grand Opera Studio in fully staged, costumed scenes from such operas as “Das Rheingold,” “La bohème,” “Eugene Onegin,” “L’amico Fritz,” “Don Carlo,” and “The Flying Dutchman.”

The 2026-27 Studio roster includes sopranos Alissa Goretsky, Elizabeth Hanje, and Scarlett Jones; mezzo-soprano Lauren Randolph; tenors Misael Corralejo and Luka Tsevelidze; baritone Geonho Lee; bass-baritones Tzvi Bat Asherah and Sam Dhobhany; bass Ziniu Zhao; and pianists and coaches Maeve Berry and Tzu Kuang Tan.

Among the new members, Scarlett Jones and Misael Corralejo arrive as first and second place winners, respectively, of HGO’s 2026 Eleanor McCollum Competition Concert of Arias, with Corralejo also claiming the Audience Choice award. Returning artist Elizabeth Hanje won first place at the 2024 Concert of Arias.
