The Choirs of Merton College Oxford Announces 2026 Tour

Director Benjamin Nicholas and the Choirs of Merton College, Oxford are set to go on tour to Germany and North America.

Germany

The Girl Choristers of Merton College, Oxford kick off the tour in Leipzig, Germany at Lutherkirche on Aug. 26. The following day, the choir travels to Nikolaikirche, and closes out this leg of the tour at Berliner Dom on Aug. 29.

Repertoire will include works by Bryd, Bach, Hayden, Mendelssohn, Standford, Ireland, Roxanna Panufnik, and Pärt, along with tradition pieces. François Cloete accompanies on the organ and piano.

North America

Once in North America, the Choir of Merton College, Oxford’s first stop is at Christ Church Cathedral in Vancouver Island on Sept. 7. They travel to Grace Cathedral in San Francisco for an Evensong on Sept. 10 and 11. They return to Canada, this time at Christ Church Cathedral, in Victoria, British Columbia, on Sept. 14. On Sept. 15, they perform an evensong at St Thomas, Fifth Avenue in New York City. The final concert will take place at St Ignatius Loyola, Park Avenue, in New York City on Sept. 17.

The Choir of Merton College, Oxford will perform works by Matthew Martin Gibbons, Dobrinka Tabakova, Druflé, Tallis, Bach, Elgar, Howells, and Bairstow. François Cloete joins at the organ.
