The San Antonio Philharmonic has settled its lawsuit.

The organization announced that it will pay a combined $232,000 which will include a $215,000 payment to David Wood and Colette Holt, a $10,000 payment to former board chair Ian Thompson III and a $7,000 payment to Philharmonic co-founder and French horn player Peter Rubins.

The orchestra began the dispute in September 2024, when Wood and Holt sued the Philharmonic, saying it had failed to repay a $150,000 loan to secure a collection of the former San Antonio Symphony’s orchestra instruments and its music library.

In a statement, Philharmonic Executive Director Roberto Treviño said to Texas Public Radio that the orchestra “reluctantly settled” because it was the responsible decision for its finances and donors.

The San Antonio Philharmonic recently announced Felipe Tristan as its new interim Music Director.
