
Staatstheater Cottbus to Present Verdi’s ‘Nabucco’

The famed opera will open on April 25, 2026 and runs for for performances through June 6, 2026 in a production directed by Armin Petras.
Alexander Merzyn conducts the Philharmonisches Orchester and a cast starring Andreas Jäpel, Alexey Sayapin, Jens Kalus Wilde, Tatiana Trenogina, Yasushi Hirano, Luzia Tietze, and Cornelia Zink, among others.
Verdi’s “Nabucco” is the composer’s third opera and is best known for its famed chorus “Va, pensiero” as well as its infamously challenging soprano role, Abigaile.
