The Madison Symphony Orchestra is set to celebrate the holiday season with “A Madison Symphony Christmas.”

Music Director John DeMain leads the Orchestra in his 32nd and final season as Music Director, joined by soloists soprano Alexandra LoBianco and bass-baritone Kyle Ketelsen. Returning are the Madison Symphony Chorus under the direction of Beverly Taylor, the Madison Youth Choirs led by Artistic Director Michael Ross, and the Mt. Zion Gospel Choir directed by Tamera and Leotha Stanley.

The concert begins with caroling in the lobby presented by the Chorus. Once inside the hall, highlights include traditional Christmas hymns along with modern holiday works. Also included are Mozart’s “Laudate Dominum,” movements from Handel’s “Messiah,” Rutter’s “Gloria,” and Humperdinck’s “Pantomime.”

“A Madison Symphony Christmas” will take place Dec. 5-7 in Overture Hall. After the concert on Sunday, Dec. 7, participants are invited to attend “Out at the Symphony: Holiday Extravaganza.”
