The 61° Concorso Internazionale Voci Verdiane Città di Busseto has announced that 190 singers from 30 countries registered for this year’s competition.

The competition in honor of Carlo Bergonzi, realized by the Ministero del Turismo, will showcase talents between the ages of 18 and 35.

The competition will be held from Dec. 10 to 14, 2025, with the first round selecting 50 candidates.

Those candidates will then compete on Dec. 10 to 14, 2025, at the Teatro Verdi di Busseto.

The jury will be comprised of Massimo Biscardi (Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia), Cristiano Sandri (Teatro Regio di Torino), Christina Scheppelmann (The Seattle Opera, La Monnaie de Munt), Alessio Vlad (Teatro Regio di Parma), and Evamaria Wieser (Salzburg Festival).

The first prize will be 5,000 euros, while the second prize will be 3,000 euros. The third prize is 2,000 euros. The Teatro Regio di Parma will also hire at least one of the winners.
