60th International Competition Voci Verdiane Citta’ di Busseto Announces 2024 Winners

The 60th International Competition Voci Verdiane Citta’ di Busseto has announced the 2024 winners.

The first place went to Korean soprano Jieun Choi while the second place went to the Greek soprano Maria Kosovitsa. The third soprano was awarded to soprano Iolanda Massimo and the baritone Shi Yan.

According to the competition, over 3,000 spectators followed the final live streaming on Operavision.eu.

The 60th International Competition Voci Verdiane Città di Busseto, in honor and memory of Carlo Bergonzi, is sponsored by the Municipality of Busseto and organized by the Teatro Regio di Parma.

This year’s jury was made up of Carlo Fontana as the official President of the Jury, Jonathan Friend (Metropolitan Opera, New York), Francesco Izzo (Teatro Regio di Parma), Pal Christian Moe (Glyndebourne Festival, Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, The Norwegian National Opera, Narodni Divadlo Prague), Karen Stone (Opera Europa), and for the Final Concert by Alessandro Galoppini (Teatro alla Scala, Milano), Cristiano Sandri(Teatro Regiodi Torino), and Ilias Tzempetonidis (Teatro San Carlodi Napoli).
