
Jonas Kaufmann, Elīna Garanča, Sonya Yoncheva, & Benjamin Bernheim Lead Wiener Staatsoper’s Opening Night Gala

The Wiener Staatsoper is set to launch its 2025-26 season with an open-air gala concert on Sept. 7.
The gala marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation from National Socialism and the establishment of the Second Republic and will also celebrate the 70 years of the State Treaty.
The gala, which will begin at 7 p.m., will feature superstars Elīna Garanča, Sonya Yoncheva, Jonas Kaufmann, Benjamin Bernheim, and Boris Pinkhasovich. Bertrand de Bill will conduct the Wiener Staatsoper. Additionally, several members of the State Opera Ensemble will be featured, including Ilia Staple, Jörg Schneider, Daria Sushkova, Clemens Unterreiner, Hans Peter Kammerer, Hannah-Theres Weigl, Anita Monserrat, Andrei Maksimov, Jenni Hietala, and Dan Paul Dumitrescu.
The concert will be broadcast on ORF Drei, and then from Sept. 18, it will be streamed on Arte Concert.
