Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo Announces ‘La Cuina de Rossini’

The Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo is set to present “La cuina de Rossini.”

“La cuina de Rossini” is a show from Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceu that transforms the stage into a kitchen, where children and their families will learn about composer Gioachino Rossini. The story of “La cuina di Rossini” revolves around Ross and Isabella, who embark on a journey of discovery and friendship as they explore the life and work of Rossini. Operas such as “Cinderella” and “William Tell” take center stage in this story, and ties in the Italian composer’s passion for good food.

The cast features mezzo-sopranos Laura Mosquera and Paola Leguizamón, tenor Julián Vargas, baritones Erwin Barrera and Juan David González, bass-baritone Ernesto Angulo, and bass Alexis Trejos. David Selvas is the stage director. Andreu Gallén directs the Bogotá Philharmonic Youth Chamber Orchestra.

Performances are scheduled for July 12 and 13, at 5 p.m.
