
Bard Summerscape Announces Cast Change for ‘Dalibor’ Due to Visa Issues
By Francisco SalazarThe Bard Summerscape has announced a cast change for its production of Smetana’s “Dalibor.”
The company said that due to visa challenges, John Matthew Myers and Cadie J. Bryan will take over the lead roles, replacing Ladislav Elgr (Dalibor) and Izabela Matuła (Milada), who were announced.
Myers has performed at the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala, and Carnegie Hall, while Bryan has performed at the Atlanta Opera, Santa Fe Symphony, New Orleans Opera, the Santa Fe Opera, and Arizona Opera.
They are set to join a cast that includes Terrence Chin-Loy, Eric Greene, Erica Petrocelli, Alfred Walker, and Wei Wu. The American Symphony Orchestra and
Bard Festival Chorale will be conducted by Leon Botstein. Jean-Romain Vesperini directs the production.
“Dalibor” is set to open on July 25 and will run through August 3, 2025.
