Teatro Regio di Parma to Celebrate Carlo Bergonzi’s Centennial

The Teatro Regio di Parma in collaboration with the Museo Renata Tebaldi is set to celebrate Carlo Bergonzi’s centennial with an event on May 20 at the Ridotto del Teatro Regio di Parma.

The event will be curated by Giancarlo Landini and audiences will get to listen to recordings of the great tenor as well as rediscover his story.

The evening will feature such speakers as Gian Paolo Minardi, Piero Mioli, Mauro Balestrazzi, Giancarlo Landini, and Stephens Hastings.

There will also be performances by sopranos Giulia Costantini e Elzbieta Maria Warcaba and bass Agostino Subacchi, with Francesco Izzo conducting. The vocalists will present arias from “Il corsaro,” “Luisa Miller,” “Macbeth,” “Simon Boccanegra,” “Un ballo in maschera,” and “Nabucco.”
