19th Ada Sari International Vocal Artistry Competitions Postpones Due to Covid

As a result of the COVID-19 situation in Poland, the Ada Sari International Vocal Artistry Competition has postponed its 2021 edition. Originally scheduled for May 8-15, the competition will now be held from August 28 – September 4.

Currently the second-largest competition for opera singers in Poland, it has been held every two years since its founding in 1985. This year’s contestants are made up of 66 artists from 16 countries.

“We want this year’s edition of the Competition to be safe for everyone involved, and at the same time to give the contestants the best opportunity to present themselves in optimal conditions, considering all the accompanying circumstances,” said Polish mezzo-soprano Małgorzata Walewska, Artistic Director of the Competition.

Notable former contestants include artists such as Piotr Beczała, Andrzej Dobber, Milijana Nikolić, Anna Simińska, Anna Lubańska, Aleksandra Kubas-Kruk, Hanna Elisabeth Müller, Adriana Ferfecka, Hubert Zapiór, Miriam Albano and Arnold Rutkowski.
