Stephanie Blythe, Anna Christy & Massimo Cavalletti Headline Palm Beach Opera’s 2018-19 Season

The Palm Beach Opera has announced its 2018-19 season featuring three opera productions and gala performances showcasing rising stars of the opera world. Here is a look.

The season opens with a Rising Stars of Opera gala offering a unique opportunity to enjoy exceptional singers on the brink of international stardom and singers of the Palm Beach Opera’s Benenson Young Artist and Apprentice Artist Programs.

Performance Dates: Dec. 18, 2018

“La Traviata” returns to the stage of the Palm Beach Opera with Verdi specialist Maestro Antonello Allemandi conducting an acclaimed cast. Massimo Cavalletti sings the role of Giorgio Germont in his role and house debut with Kristina Mkhitaryan as Violetta in her house debut and Alexey Tatarintsev as Alfredo.

Performance Dates: Jan. 25-27, 2019

Joshua Bloom and Andrei Bondarenko lead an all-star cast in Mozart ‘s “Don Giovanni” with Caitlin Lynch as Donna Anna and Danielle Pastin as Donna Elvira. Chief conductor David Stern conducts a production by Kristine McIntyre.

Performance Dates: Feb. 22-24, 2019

The season concludes with Strauss’ “Die Fledermaus”  headed by conductor David Stern. Keri Alkema sings the lead role of Rosalinde while the incomparable Stephanie Blythe takes the role of Orlofsky. Anna Christy makes her house debut as Adele and Zachary Borichevsky is Eisenstein. Dona Vaughn directs the production.
