Soprano Erin Wall Announces She Will Undergo Chemotherapy

Erin Wall has announced she will undergo chemotherapy for cancer.

The Canadian soprano announced via Twitter stating “Hi Twitter. I have cancer. Yes, it’s true. Don’t freak out. I’m getting AMAZING treatment @pmcancercentre and I’m also singing concerts between treatments. My prognosis is very good. I’m fine.”

She added, “To clarify my earlier post: I’m singing previously booked concerts as I am able, while undergoing chemo. I will be resuming opera performances in the fall, after completing treatment in the summer.”

Wall was scheduled to open a new production of “Faust” at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, but will be replaced by Ailyn Perez. She is still scheduled Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang (Hymn of Praise) and Mahler’s Symphony No. 8. She has concerts scheduled for the summer and is scheduled to return to the opera stage for “Elektra” at the Canadian Opera Company.
