Piotr Beczala Cancels Munich Concert

By Francisco Salazar

Piotr Beczala has canceled his upcoming concert in Munich.

The tenor took to social media and said, “Dear friends, I regret to inform you that due to my illness, the concert in Munich, which was scheduled on November 21, will be postponed to a later date. I’ll keep you informed. Warmest greetings, Piotr.”

Beczala was set to perform alongside the Münchner Symphoniker and Marco Boemi. Ticketholders will be refunded for the concert as there is no rescheduled date yet.

This is the second event that Beczala cancels this week. The tenor previously withdrew from the Wiener Staatsoper gala due to logistical reasons.

Beczala next performs in Vienna on Nov. 24 followed by a concert in Dresden on Nov. 26. The tenor is also set to return to the Metropolitan Opera on Dec. 31 for a production of “Fedora.”
