Michelle Bradley, John Chest & Layla Claire Headline Opera National De Lorraine’s 2018-19 Season

The Opera National de Lorraine has announced its 2018-19 season featuring three new productions, including one world premiere. Here is a look at what audiences can expect.

Productions 

Michelle Bradley sings the title role in Verdi’s “Aida” with Gianluca Terranova as Radamès and Enkelejda Shokoza as Amneris. Giuliano Carella conducts the productions.

Performance Dates: Sept. 25-Oct. 4, 2018

Offenbach’s “La Belle Helene” is the second production of the season with Mireille Lebel in the title role and Philippe Talbot as Paris. Laurent Campellone conducts the new production by Bruno Ravella.

Performance Dates: Dec. 14-23, 2018

Giorgio Battistelli’s “7 Minuti” makes its world premiere in a production by Michel Didym. Francesco Zanzillotta conducts the production which stars Elena Zilio, Grazia Doronzio, Paola Gardina, and Erika Beretti.

Performance Dates: Feb. 1-8, 2019

Giovanni Legrenzi’s “La Divisione del Mondo” stars Carlos Allemano, Stuart Jackson, Andre Morsch, Julie Boulianne, Arnaud Richard, and Sophie Junker. Jetske Mijnssen directs the new production.

Performance Dates: March 20-27, 2019

Layla Claire and John Chest star in Bernard Hermann’s “Les Hauts de Hurlevent.” The opera will be directed by Orpha Phelan and conducted by Jacques Lacombe.

Performance Dates: May 2-9, 2019

Sunyoung Seo stars in the title role of Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” with Edgaras Montvidas as Pinkerton. Modestas Pitrenas conducts.

Performance Dates: June 23-July 2, 2019

Recitals 

The season will also see recitals from Jennifer Michel, Eric Huchet, Andrew MacTaggart, and Philippe-Nicolas Martin.
