Jennifer Rowley To Replace Elena Stikhina At Opera De Paris

Elena Stikhina has withdrawn from Opéra de Paris’ upcoming revival of Verdi’s “Il Trovatore.”

The Opéra de Paris announced the news via social media and as a result, Jennifer Rowley will take over the role of Leonora singing alongside Yusif Eyvazov and Roberto Alagna as well Ekaterina Semenchuk and Gabriele Viviani. Maurizio Benini will conduct the production by Àlex Ollé.

Rowley recently sang the role of Leonora at the Metropolitan Opera earning raves. OperaWire stated, that Rowley was “incredible” and that “her Leonora was a potent and confident woman, singing passionately.”

This summer Rowley sings at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in a production of “Il Trovatore” as well as “Medea di Corinto” at the Teatro Nuovo. She returns to the Metropolitan Opera next season for “Tosca” and “Adriana Lecouvreur.”

Rowley performs “Il Trovatore” on June 21, 25, 28, and July 5, 11, 14.
