Glyndebourne Festival 2018 Announces Cinema & Live Stream Schedule

The Glyndebourne Festival has announced that several productions will be screened during this summer’s festival.

The performances will be showcased in cinemas across the UK or online for international audiences; the live streams online will be straight from the festival’s website.

This year the operas on offer to a wider range of audiences will be “Madama Butterfly,” “Vanessa,” and “Saul.”

The Puccini masterwork will get screenings between June 21 and 28 and stars Olga Busuioc in the title role. Elizabeth DeShong sings Suzuki and Joshua Guerrero appears as Pinkerton. Michael Sumuel is Sharpless.

“Saul” to be shown between July 26 and August 2. This version of the Handel work is from 2015 and will feature Christopher Purves, Iestyn Davies, Lucy Crowe, Sophie Bevan, Paul Appleby, Benjamin Hulett, and John Graham-Hall.

Finally, “Vanessa” will appear in cinemas and online between August 14 and 21. Emma Bell takes on the title role while Virgine Verrez appears as Erika.
