Aida Garifullina Releases New EP For World Cup

By Francisco Salazar

Aida Garifullina and Decca Classics have released two new singles in celebration of the soprano’s World Cup presentation.

The new EP entitled “Midnight in Moscow,” which was released on all streaming sources, includes two songs “Tenderness” and “White Bird.” The Russian songs continue Garifullina’s exploration of her cultural roots, ones she explored in her new album from last year.

Garifullina performed at the opening ceremony of the World Cup with Robbie Williams and was also part of the World Cup gala, which showcased Anna Netrebko, Plácido Domingo, and Juan Diego Flórez among others.

Garifullina next headlines Bastille Day and also makes her Metropolitan Opera debut. She also sings at the Mariinsky Theatre, in a gala concert with Vittorio Grigolo and sings a memorial gala for Dmitri Hvorostovsky.
