Renowned soprano Adrianne Pieczonka has been appointed the Vocal Chair and Head of the Vocal Department at the Glenn Gould School at The Royal Conservatory.

Per a press release, she is the school’s first ever Vocal Chair, a role that the Canadian soprano will assume in May 2019.

“I am very excited and honoured to assume the role of Vocal Chair at The Royal Conservatory of Music’s Glenn Gould School,” said Pieczonka in a press release. “For the past several years I have given annual master classes for the singers of its Artist Diploma Program; I look forward to being involved with all other aspects of the Voice Department.

“Drawing on my experience from many years on stage, I hope to inspire and support young artists as they prepare themselves for careers as professional singers.”

Pieczonka continues a sturdy performance career that will feature a series of performances throughout 2019. She is set to take on the Marschallin in “Der Rosenkavalier” at the Vienna State Opera in March before performing in “Dialogues des Carmélites” at the Metropolitan Opera in May. She will also appear at the Bayerische Staatsoper in “Un Ballo in Maschera.”
