Zubin Mehta Postpones Beethoven Concert at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino

The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino has postponed the first concert of its Beethoven cycle on Sept. 10, 2021.

The company announced that due to indisposition Zubin Mehta was forced to postpone the concert and reschedule it for Oct. 15, 2021.

All ticket holders for the Sept. 10, 20221 will be able to attend the new date or have the option of obtaining a refund.

The new date will see Mehta conduct Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 and 5. The concert is scheduled to conduct all nine symphonies on Sept. 25,  29, and Oct. 7, 2021.

The conductor is also scheduled to lead Haydn’s “The Creation.”

The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino recently opened its season with a production of “Così fan tutte” and will continue its season with a new production of Verdi’s “La Traviata” with Mehta conducting Nadine Sierra, Leo Nucci, Plácido Domingo, and Francesco Meli.
