Des Moines Metro Opera has announced its inaugural virtual holiday program “Merry & Bright Holiday Concert,” which is set for Dec. 18, 2020.

The online program will feature performances from such artists as tenor Jonathan Burton, mezzo-soprano Joyce Castle, tenor Joseph Dennis, soprano Sara Gartland, bass Zachary James, soprano Alexandra LoBianco, soprano Zulimar López-Hernández, mezzo-soprano Megan Marino, baritone Michael Mayes, baritone John Moore, DMMO Music Director and Principal Conductor David Neely, pianist Yasuko Oura, composer/pianist Michael Patterson, and mezzo-soprano Elise Quagliata. There will also be special appearances by the Heartland Youth Choir.

The showcase will also include a post-show reception online with artists and other special guests. The company also announced that it would partner with Doré Bakery for a Holiday Cheer Package.

The stream will be available online until Dec. 31, 2020.
