Zachary James Leads Opera Omaha’s ‘Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street’

Opera Omaha is set to present a new production of Sondheim’s “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.”

The company will continue its 2021-22 season with the music conducted by Hal France and the production directed by Susan Clement, making her Opera Omaha debut.

The production will star Zachary James in the title role of Sweeney Todd and Emily Pulley as the iconic Nellie Lovett. Ashley Emerson will star Johanna Baker, Jonathan Johnson as Anthony Hope, Rod Nelman as Judge Turpin, and Michael Kuhn as Tobias Ragg.

The cast will be rounded out by Jason Ferrante, Katy Lindhart, Barry Banks, and Shae’Kell Butler.

“Sweeney Todd” is set to be performed at the Orpheum Theater on Feb. 25 and 27, 2022.
