Zachary James, Lauren Michelle & Andriana Chuchmann Lead Opera Omaha’s 2021-22 Season

Opera Omaha has announced its 2021-22 season featuring three operas in new productions.

The season opens in the fall with a new production originally slated for Opera Omaha’s 2020 ONE Festival of “The Capulets and the Montagues” by Bellini. The production will be directed by ONE Festival Artistic Director James Darrah and will star Andriana Chuchman, Cecelia Hall, Jesus Garcia, and Jeffrey Beruan. Christopher Allen conducts.

Performance Dates: Oct. 15 & 17, 2021

In February Stephen Sondheim’s “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” will be performed under conductor Hal France and directed by Susan Clement-Toberer. Zachary James stars in the title role alongside Emily Pulley, Ashley Emerson, Jonathan Johnson, and Rodney Nelman.

Performance Dates: Feb. 25 & 27, 2022

The season ends with Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin directed by Rosetta Cucchi and conducted by Steven White. Alexander Elliott stars in the title role alongside Lauren Michelle as Tatiana. The cast is rounded out by Arseny Yakovlev, Hilary Ginther, and Victoria Livengood.
