Youth Opera’s Future Stars To Make Their International Festival Debut

Young opera stars are set to make their debut at a prestigious international music festival.

Singers from Youth Opera North Wales are set to take part at the finale of this year’s North Wales International Music Festival. The singers will be made up of youngsters aged eight to 18 from across North Wales and will sing alongside Welsh National Opera’s Festival Community Chorus, the resident NEW Sinfonia orchestra and Kana Chamber Choir.

Soprano Samantha Hay, tenor Rhodri Prys Jones, and baritone Roland Wood will be featured soloists on the concert.

The concert will include the world premiere of a new work by renowned Welsh composer Robat Arwyn and performances by Japanese pianist Yu Kosuge, rising piano star Luke Jones, vocal group The Gesualdo Six, the Only Boys Aloud choir and folk groups Awen Celtica and VRï.

The concert is set to take place Sept. 28, 2019 at the St Asaph Cathedral.
