Young People’s Chorus of New York City Unveils Spring & Summer 2026 Slate

The Young People’s Chorus of New York City (YPC) has announced its spring and summer 2026 season.

YPC presents a free outdoor morning concert at the Harlem Rose Garden, 6 East 129th Street, New York City, featuring songs from a wide range of traditions.

Performance Date: May 31, 2026


YPC’s “Annual Spring Celebration Concert” returns to the United Palace, bringing together more than 600 young artists for a program honoring America’s 250th anniversary spanning classical, contemporary, pop, jazz, and gospel repertoire. Francisco J. Núñez leads alongside Creative Director Elizabeth Núñez and conductors Ahra Cho, Caitlin Henning, Maria Peña, and Emma Sway. A live stream will be available.

Over 1,000 children from all five boroughs of New York City public schools unite for “I Hear America Singing” at the United Palace, led by Elizabeth Núñez and Caitlin Henning. A live stream will be available.

YPC participates in the Sing a Mile High International Children’s Choral Festival in Denver, Colorado, with five days of rehearsals, workshops, and performances at the Bunker Auditorium at the Colorado School of Mines.

Performance Dates: June 23–27, 2026


YPC performs a free outdoor concert in front of The New York Public Library’s Stephen A. Schwarzman Building to mark the library’s week-long display of its original copy of the Declaration of Independence.

Performance Date: July 1, 2026


YPC travels to the United Kingdom, touring London before competing in the International Eisteddfod in Llangollen, Wales, with a program spanning contemporary works, folk traditions, spirituals, gospel, and Broadway.

Performance Dates: July 5–12, 2026


YPC appears at Festival Napa Valley, performing with Grammy-winning trio Time for Three on Opening Night, headlining a Novack Concert for Kids, joining Opera Scenes with the 2026 Manetti Shrem Opera Fellows and Festival Orchestra Napa, and presenting a Music & Wellness Summit talk.

Performance Dates: July 8–10, 2026


YPC performs the New York premiere of Christopher Cerrone’s “The Only Way is Through” at the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts in West Chester, New York, collaborating with Sandbox Percussion in an immersive outdoor work inspired by Robert Frost’s poetry.

Performance Date: July 19, 2026


YPC National presents its 2026 Summer Choral Intensive in New York City, comprising the Conductor Studio professional development program and the National Chorister Lab for singers ages 8–18, with Barcelona’s Veus – Cor Infantil Amics de la Unió as Choir in Residence.

Performance Dates: July 22–25, 2026
