York Symphony Orchestra Extends Music Director’s Contract
By Francisco SalazarPennsylvania’s York Symphony Orchestra has extended its Music Director’s contract.
In a statement, the company said, “We are very excited to announce that Music Director and Maestro Lawrence Golan will be here for another 10 years! He has agreed to an 8-year contract extension, which takes him to YSO’s 100th season.”
In a statement, Golan said, “The fact that the organization believes in me enough to want to keep me on the podium for at least the next ten years. But beyond that, the York Symphony Orchestra has been growing and improving steadily over the past ten years. We are firing on all cylinders.”
Executive Director Anthony Wise added, “Lawrence loves York and the community members and has been able to elevate the musical level of our orchestra’s core and substitute players as everyone now wants to play with the YSO!”
